Not being funny, but who cares if its been posted before? I hadn't seen it until two seconds ago, and your not obliged to look at every post.

Trying not to sound like a kn*b, but just bcoz a few of you have seen it doesn't mean us newbs arn't interested.

Not quite my cup of tea tho

It's not a major issue, but it should be kept to a minimum, imho. The odd accidents do happen, and thats fine - however doing a quick search before posting would allow the would-be OP to put his opinion in an existing thread.

The other alternative is to have loads of threads about the same thing, which is ugly and unmanageable, and would put people off using this forum.

So what should the OP have searched for? The word Fischer was not used anywhere in the other thread, nor SV based sportsbike.
I think this highlights that people should use clear descriptive thread titles rather than jumping down peoples throats saying it's another Hitler bike post.
I previously saw the thread title American SV but was not interested in seeing what some american owner of an SV had done to his bike so I did not open it. Whereas, this sportsbike based on an SV looks fantastic

Well, it is a hitler bike post - i don't think anyone jumped down anyone's throat though - sorry if it was taken that way. I tried to make it amusing rather than accusative. However if its not labelled as a hitler bike thread, how are others to know that there's a previous post on the same subject?

The odd duplicate subject post will happen, its inevitable, and i don't find it a major problem. Your observations about the thread title I agree with. Perhaps a new thread would be the place to discuss this?

Sorry, I did see a couple of amusing Hilter references then it seemed to resort name calling.
