No, and they don't all trade the same stuff.

Hedge funds have halved because the majority have a strong link to the equity markets, and they also have massive amounts of investors removing money, as they are also strong linked to equities. Hence they have to cover their losses from somewhere.

All of the above is not the same as causing the mess, and that was all the banks that had dodgy CDO making operations and poor risk controls!
