It'll be fine as said, it'll need riding in a different way thats all.

TBH I would suspect you'll be surprised how much it will pull from 4000rpm onwards...

I personally think my 750 is a better all rounder than the SV was...

Nice one, cheers fizz.

Fingers crossed now that it lives up to it's promissed billing, but it's a trustworthy source so I have no doubts about that.

Watch this space, could be a black curvey for sale post going up soon.

SRAD brakes can sieze, make sure they're in good fettle or they'll warp those expensive discs...

I rode falcs SRAD 600 back from the garage after it's MOT/service and most of that was through town and to do 30 I had to keep it in 1st so that it wasn't coughing and spluttering on low revs, not what Iwould describe as a commuting bike

Do you know what revs they were? That sounds odd, that's all. My old 600 would cruise at 30 in 3rd, of course you need to knock it down 1 or 2 to get more go, but it wouldn't cough and splutter. I know it's a completely different bike (it was a 2007) but to cough and splutter I'd expect it to be < 2000rpm?

Obviously this would be the straight forward solution. However this bike has been offered to me very much by suprise, and I am not really even looking for a new bike, and don't intend shopping around. It will be a case of this is either as good as it sounds, or I'll keep the SV. Plus not many private sellers are keen on giving test rides.

Hence my posting and asking for opinions from people in the know, so that I can help to make an informed decision, rather than a rash buy on something I know nowt about, but like the look of.

Ta.

If you don't mind me asking what's the reasonable price you've been offered it at?

Just that seeing the other threads on the Daytona 600s and 650s made me think to suggest keeping your eyes open as you can get hold of a bike that's 5-6 years newer (and a hell of a sight better as a road going bike) usually for similar price as a 10 year old gixer.

On a purely cosmetic point, I've never been a fan of the SRADs. Bulbous and dated. Read into that what you will, I ride a Speed Four.

He's asking for £1900, which looking on autotrader seems very good for the mileage.

At that it is a pretty good price then.

See if you can have a quick go on it, 600 IL4's aren't to everybody's liking as people above said. I like mine because I get enjoyment out of keeping it buzzing, if you like power and "umph" on tap then it's a different story.
