if you jailbreak there is an app called pdanet on cydia that allows tethering without o2's bolt on charges

of course i have just heard this never done it in the flesh

Mine has finally activated. I hope tomtom or garmin bring out a proper satnav app. Maps is useless in that respect, as far as I can see.

It's assisted gps not independent so it'll never be great, it's fine for what it is which is a helpful map!

well my phone just crashed, plugged into iTunes to restore/reboot that crashed and it's bloody reset to march!!! ahhhhh I don't even know what I might have lost

I won't be updating, already jailbroken running PDAnet for tethering/3g modem - works a treat when signal is good

Mine updated fine, took a few attempts to register, I assume because the servers are flat out atm.

Yep, it is expensive. Like £30 a month.

And data roaming too - £2.64/MB in Europe and £6/MB rest of world. Nuts.

I like the new OS - subtle changes to the upright keyboard ahev made it much easier to use and landscape texting is great.
