Registered keeper doesn't say anything about ownership. For example you could be the registered keeper of a company car while the car actually belongs to the lease company.
If you applied for a V5, and spent money restoring the bike, the original owner could still turn up and demand it back, or worse still try and get you TWOC'd. |
