I don't pick up accents that easily. Don't know what accent I have now. I used to have a soft Welsh accent but not anymore

Hmmmm, not sure where I fit in on this one. I'm from South Wales but was brought up not to have the accent, moved to Gloucester at 16, then London at 20, back to Wales for a year and lived in or around Bristol ever since. Now....to talk to me in a relaxed environment, I have a little bit of a mix really. I suppose I speak the queens english with a big twist of welsh/west country. Now.....phone voice or when I'm working.......I revert to the Queens English proper and no one can really tell where I'm from. I also tend to find that people are intimidated by me in work, so I tend to try not to talk like that in my home life....unless something really annoys me!

As for men......I think think the northern accents are the best for making joke telling sound the best...there's just something about it that works. The punblic school accent is a bit of a turn off for me and certain Scottish accents are wonderful.

Venom I know you were joking

For some reason people think my German gran is from Wales when she talks. Shes never lived in Wales!

I tell you what accents I can't stand. People who live away from home in StudentLand, come home with a fake la de da accent. They sound flippin rediculous, and its funny how they all get the same one, no matter where in the country University may be.

Yep....same as the public schoolboy accent....only the students can't even say it's real so it's even worse. What cracks me up is when family members start speaking like that when someone they consider to be posh is around and you stand there thinking, "WTF..........where did you come from" and having a little giggle at their expense!
