Its funny that, as the knowledge I have with bikes is acquired the same way my knowledge of computer systems. I've learnt it through doing it. I've not got any formal qualifications, done and exams and yet some fool decided I can look after bank clearance systems and stock markets for Europe.
Oh the irony. |

Grinch, same as you...what I know about bikes, is a result of having to fix things on my bike, or watching my dad sort his bikes (generally roped in to holding a torch). What I've come to know about everything else is due to a general interest in engines and that kinda thing in general. Oh, and application of common sense

Substitue 'mechanical' for 'legal', and I'm often doing that too.
I sometimes wonder.

Sometimes I post things that are actually quotes from the man at the end of the couch
Carnivore BEng (Hons) Comp Aided Eng and about ten years or so of building bikes, he started that in a bike shop. So its not necessarily me giving the advice(which doesn't happen often as tech stuff goes), as usually he can't be ar$ed to log in. me I just have life skilz innit....and more knowledge/experience than some give me credit for. I try hard not to hand out advice that I haven't used/experienced. But I have helped swap a cylinder head ![]()

Mostly the best advice is from people who donīt have letters after their names, because they get on with the job rather then procrastinating about how to do it
