Feel bad for Guintoli if he broke his leg too.

Yeah it isn't a great camera view that one. On the live pics he was travelling way too fast into the hairpin and was blaming a brake problem, but the telemetry told a different story when the officials reviewed it.

EDIT - It wasn't even the warm up lap, it was the lap they do when leaving the pits to go to the grid.

I bet the Crescent Suzuki boss was livid. First Guintolli, then his new rider Tommy Hill, himself only just back from an injury and well in with a chance of victory.

TBH though all he did was brake a bit too late and he had nowhere to go. Unfortunately for him there were lots of riders in the way. On another day he just runs out wide at the hairpin, loses a few places and the incident is forgotten.

It's not as if he or anyone else will learn anything from him getting this ban. It wasn't even reckless imo, just a mistake but with serious consequences.

The Guintolli one was far more deserving of a ban.

He just missed braking point, hit the kink and had nowhere to go, he did try to manouver around but at that speed, he'd be lucky.

Only a little bit reckless, taking out 6 other bikes.

He did come in to the corner a bit hot but there's a bump on the track there that screws the bike if you are breaking hard as you go over it.

I think he actually took out one, the others couldn't avoid it AFAIK

Taking 6 bikes out (although only a couple directly) was the unfortunate result. But was the mistake a reckless act? Riders do that one all the time, sometimes they take another rider out, but I don't recall anyone getting banned for it.
