i have that bike! well, in those colours, mine is the fuel injected model.
its a pretty easy going bike, im the most nervous/clumsiest/shouldnt-be-on-the-roadest person ever and its not too much or anything (except its too tall or and too heavy for lil old me). i have also ridden one thats fully powered, the only thing you'd probs feel different is the fact the SV has lots of torque, whereas my cbr comes into its own only above 8000 revs.

i've never ridden anyone elses bike except the full powered cbr (wasnt mine) as riding a different style of bike made me too nervous - i've been offered SVs and a CBR RR but im not comfortable as im so nervous, so dont worry about the bike so much, more about whether you're comfortable riding a different style of bike, or a more powerful one.

EDIT: someone actually offered to let me try out a gsxr thou but i didnt take that one seriously lol

Cobblers. Unless the guy on the CBR's riding like a complete Jessie it will p**s all over the SV. More power, better brakes, better suspension - an SV will only be quicker if the rider is substantially better than the CBR's rider.

Eh?

Unless you're thinking of a CBR125 or CBR400, I think if you bother to look you'll find that all of them fit the criteria I specified.

You are having a laugh.

SV naked tops out at a very optimistic 125 on the clock, the CBR will go all the way to about 160 on the clock. I have a 98 CBR trackbike and have owned two SVs, the CBR is by far and away the quicker bike. It feels easier to ride than the SV as well, handles better, brakes better, and is comfier.

The throttle goes boh ways, so ride it as slow or as fast as you like.

CBR600F will only be slower than an SV if both are 33bhp restricted, the restriction strangles top end power so torquey twins are better when restricted than IL4's.
