Don't worry. In the event of a bump of being pulled over go "here you go piggy/insurance, here's my proof the bike is 33bhp, it's your job to prove it and i've got nothing to hide, dyno' it, oh and when you find my bike 33bhp, i'll have a new set of tyres as the dyno' will wreck them."

Anyone who can prove otherwise show me.

1- It's "Police" not piggy
2- Dyno's don't wreck tyres
3- WTF is going on in your avatar? - it freaks me out.

1- If he's anal enough not to believe you about your restriction, he is a piggy.
2- I was under the assumption they did. Fair enough
3 - I didn't want a photo of myself in a pink shirt, my gf + her friend made sure of it. And i've been told to avatar it.

I can assure, you, if you have an accident, as there is no legal requirement for a certificate the insurance would test the bike if they wanted confirmation. And if it was a really serious accident, then the Police probably would have VOSA examin the bike and they would document the restrictor.

Providing you insurance company does not state it requires a certificate then don't waste your money.
where did i mention anything leagal ? lol .... im jsut saying it makes life alot easier to have the cert .....

Im on 33 BHP and i would only have to show proof in the event of a claim ..
i dont have any proof as i fitted my ECU my self .
People saying they will test your bike ect ect .... its for you to prove to them your bike is resticted not for them to prove to you .

and also what if mybike was stolen ??

No one would be able to test the bike to see if its resticted and if i havent got any documentation saying my bikes resticted they might tell me to F off .

so if i was you i would just get it just makes life easier .

This is WRONG.

With traffic offences in this country operating on "guilty until proven innocent" I am surprised they are not more strict, it would be more easy revenue.

But anyway, the only example of someone getting into a bit of mither for not having a cert was some lad dangerous dave heard about; he was copped at warp 10 on an R6 without restriction. But I can't see how that case is even relevant myself.

Check with your insurers, if they require a certificate go get insurance with someone else!

Also, don't believe a WORD on the FI international website, and if you see them on fire, don't p*** on them, I wouldn't.

I can see it might make it a bit easier, but if you get caught doing something stupid they won't take your word for it that is still restricted.

As far as I am aware a 33bhp cert. because it is not a legal document is not part of the "producer" docs.

one of my friends got pulled over while doing silly speeds on the motorway and they impounded his bike as they thought it wasnt restricted

went to court and he had a certificate - they said that meant b*llox and tested it themselves. the only reason he got 3 points was because they didnt write down his registration correctly at the time (or something like that -something wasnt written down right anyway)

Silly speeds and only three points? I thought 'silly speeds' was 6 points? A restricted bike will do over the speed that should get you 6 points.

That's questionable.

30mph over the limit on the Mway, 100mph. Maybe some slippy bike will indicate 105-110. Probably not going to get you into court due to optimistic speedos.
