A 12kg difference in weight will help, but by how much is beyond my abilities..

Twin spark, iridium plugs, lamba sensor, less weight, bikes mechanical condition, if the TB's need balanced.. Just about anything really?

It's all bound to add up..

suppose as ThEGr33k says i'm very short and weigh naff all 10stone exactly. but that wont explain the difference between me and peterco then peterco and gordonM with identical bikes who get realy different mileage think gordonM is 150 to a tank where peterco is 200 to a tank.

all i know is it always brings a smile to my face every time i fill up. how much! teeheeheehee.

I don't think about fuel economy, I just ride how I want ......... until the light comes on

Don't see the point in deliberately accelerating slowly, chugging along in 6th, worrying about how much petrol I'm using. The bike is for fun. If you're worried about petrol, don't take the bike out lol

btw, I'm not saying you guys do that, just saying how I feel about it

i'm exactly the same. the bike is for fun and i dont care how much it costs. but the added bonus of the grin at the petrol station is even more fun or my days out. if i got 30 miles to a gallon i still wouldn't complain. my bike is my once a week relief valve and without it i would be a veeeeeery grumpy person.

Exactly my take on it too. Having said that, the Versys makes me smile because I'm riding just as quickly as I did on the SVs but getting 235 miles to a 19 litre tankful - sometimes I can squeeze it to 250 if I'm cruising along the motorway.

The most I ever got from an SV was 135 miles to a tank.

My mate used to have a K7 and me a K4 and I'd always do about £1.50 a tank less than him. Its also about the same difference between my K6 GSXR600 and his K8.

I've always put it down to him being about 4/5" taller than me with broader shoulders, hence much less aerodynamic and about 2 stone heavier.

It was after the carlsberg recce. Paul was leading it and giving it more than I was (or it could have just appeared that waywith the nature of the thou) but he was definitely under a quid more that mine and would have been DJ's too had he had not gone for the superunleaded pump
