Depends how you use it, I like to be quick but legal and found the hornet 600 to be useless below 50mph (at which point it would very rapidly gather up its skirts and bugger off), the SV you can 'play' at lower speeds without worrying so much about the gear you're in and there is plenty of 'grunt'.

Don't get me wrong, the 600/4's *are* faster but not at low speed town riding where the grunt of the 650/2 makes a *huge* difference (again to me, you may not care as much). I needed to go up to a 750/4 to get the same amount of low down grunt.

I can only really suggest you try a few and see what you think.

They're horrible. The older teapot was better, at least that didn't pretend to be something it isn't.

What about a GSR before repeating what the press says I will offer my opinion of ownership.
I bought this to replace a curvy as my hands where always in pain. Right then it's way more comfy on hands legs and bum, the suspension works it's much better through the corners really agile.
Yes it does require more revs and it is much less forgiving of naff gear choice but its quick and it sounds lovely.
Oh and all the talk of naff fuelling on off throttle etc in my experience is bloomers takes about 5 secs to learn how to avoid any jerkiness.

regards

Will be trying all these out anyway, yeah.

Are there not any decent bikes of this slightly greater size that still have the low down grunt without being litre bikes?

metalangel there are alternatives to riding position I have just fitted a coplete comfort conversion from Matt yokes, it has made a significant difference and absolutely no pain to my wrists. Have a look see at the difference.
