Thats why we need to make sure we budget, we want to do AT LEAST 3 weeks.

I would love to do some Scuba there too, I will have to check it out.
We will be in Auckland as that is where my friends all live so Im sure that despite staying there, we wont actually spend much time there.
Natalie was going on about some hot springs up north etc and 4x4 stuff which got Mr VT all excited!

Im sure that a rented Land Rover will be on the cards (not sure how I will explain the 4x4 battle scars when we return it to the hire co.)
Mr VT did a bit of offroading at the Game Reserve in South Africa....In my Dad's Toyota Corolla....shhhhhhhhh! lol

You really must drive to drive/ride round the roundabout that is the arc d'triumphe.

Right then, you've come to the right place. Check my Facebook pictures out for the past 2 years worth that we have been.

Eurostar, your choice, it's expensive compared to flying then getting the metro into the centre though...I think.

Hotel, for the past two years we have been, we stayed in a place called Jardins De Eiffel, it cost us 150 Euros per night, it's not the greatest but it is down the sidestreets and all that, we love it. Depends how plush you wanna go, the hotel is not a great place if you like plush, but hey ho, we aren't spending our days in it It was 10 mins walk from the eiffel tower.

Some advice you didn't ask for but I'm gonna give it...

Attractions and a few other places, this March we went there, there were men and boys that would come up to you and show you a ring (normally the female) and pretend that they think it is yours and say 'you take it'. So Kayla and I did, thanks mate, oh no, thats not the last, he comes back over 'you give me money for Coffee', I said no mate have your ring back. And walked off, he turned really funny, shouting following etc, I turned to tell him to do one and he'd gone. The best thing was that ten minutes later, walking along the Seine we watched a man walking towards us and do exactly the same lol, he walked up to us, no sorry mate, do one.

There are a group of Poverty struck looking ladys that beg for money and food, don't bother, they go back over to their husbands if you give them the money and give it to them, last time I gave one a mento ...

Sacre-Couer - A bunch of Jamaicans (or impersonating Jamaicans) basically own this patch, they try to put a string band on your arm, tell them no, I went down back streets and was down the side walking towards, this cost me 30 euros for two pieces of string

Plenty to do over there, go to the eiffel tower at night, over the road from it where the fountains are you can go up by the art gallery (i think it is that) and take pictures from the wall. Very cool. Places to eat aren't as bad as people say, find supermarkets for a cold drink if you want one. Crepes are the best with Chocolate inside, yummmmm. Notre Dam is beautiful, and you get to see this really weird sight...

The metro is easy to use if your not dippy like my missus DO GO TO THE ARCE DE TRIOMPHE AT NIGHT! It is an experience to watch the roundabout, we stood there for ages in amazement. Cafes down sidestreets are cheaper. If I think of anymore, I'll let you know Likewise, if you wanna know anything else, I'll try my best

EDIT: If you rent a scooter or car, watch out for the scooters, bikes etc, people are worse than London. Best way IMO to get about is via Metro and foot. Metro pass for the day I think is 6 euros, I think.

Thanks Plowsie, I've had a look at your pics and now I want to go even more....I love Paris.

In fact it prompted me to dig out my old photos, just shows you how long ago it was, the countdown to the millenium is on the Eiffel Tower...(in days)

And there was this strange Frenchman and his cat...

Your not far off mate

Yet we want to go back every year, I think because it was our first holiday together and we loved the freedom etc because no parents or siblings about to bug us and dictate what to do. Not only that, but because we love the sights etc. And the two years we have been, we have had sunshine everyday In February of 2008 and March 2009
