I drilled the end of my old Rivets out on my DID chain and used a pin punch to push the pins through , fitted new chain and link and used molegrips on either side of the new plate to squeeze onto the pins with equal force and checked that distance of the plate was the same as it`s neighbouring ones (with a vernier caliper) . Peined the ends of the pins over with a hammer with a large block of metal on the other side to take the impact . took it to local garage and asked them to check what I did and they said "Wouldn`t have done it any different ourselves"
