Here ya go. Its ok but you have to think outside the box aswell. Turns out my problems were a combination of dodgy reg/rec and dodgy reg rec to battery wiring at the same time..

now you mentioned the combo problem you had, I had a similar issue but not sure. I had a duffed reg, now got a working second hand one and all is fine but...

here's the question (sorry for hi jacking thread) with engine at idle, is it normal for the regulator/rectifier's negative wire (the black with white stripe) to get warm to the touch? (is it because it carries a high current to charge the battery?)

or could it be casued by dodgy reg rec to battery wiring?

Battery practically charged any way, stuck it in, fired up, after a bit of fiddling with the starter motor, seems it's given up the ghost, off the the suzuki dealer, and picked up a new one, i'll fit it in a wee while so.

Starter relay actually, seems the contacts were fecked, so i replace the unit, for 60 euro, well worth it for piece of mind i guess ..

i had same prob last year then it went totally dead no ignition lightd put jump leads on and it was tuning over with no keys in turned out to be the relay which then cooked the battery
