Twas pretty tight mate , even though I do it up finger tight it always seems to dig in a bit , despite being made of plastic and having an O ring on it , it grips like Jack Tweedy to the Jade Goody empire . I often have to put an open ended spanner over it to give it a crack open .

Bloody hell, go at them for attempted murder mate, can you get attempted manslaughter?

Goodluck with the prints, I Just hope the police up your way aren't as work shy as the lot down here.
When someone tried to nick my bike and they got perfect prints (both entire hands where they tried to lift either side of the tank), I know they matched the prints as they asked the next day if I could attend an Identity parade to identify the theif.

When I said I didn't see them (they drove off when the alarm woke me up and the house lights went on and they couldn't get it loaded onto whatever they were using fast enough), they dropped the case as "the finger prints could of gotten there innocently so without eye witnesses they couldn't proceed due to lack of evidence....)
Naffs me right off! Private property, peftect prints in heavy rain, bike not covered and confirmed by the SOCO as "a few hours old at the most" under the petrol tank in a "pushing up" position...and sorry, if you don't see it happen it didn't happen..they may have just taken a wrong turn down your drive way while walking home and decided to cup your fuel tank moments before a theft attempt....

Likewise when the house over the road was robbed, we knew they were on holiday when their alarm went off, front room light is on, phone the police, can you identify the people in the house and are you sure it's not the home owners?
No I can't see through walls and I know the home owners are on holiday and not in the habbit of leaving their alarm going for 20 minutes at 2am.
Sorry if you can't see an intruder we can't send anyone out....
3 days later the neighbours get home to find themselves cleaned out.

Why didn't you simply say "Oh, hang on... I can see them and one of them looks like he has a gun"

That would have got them out pretty sharpish.

well the final outcome of this is that I get a phone call Yesterday from NW police . They ask if they can inspect the bike . In my roundabout way I said that it had been 2 weeks since the incident , it had been repaired by myself , the bike had been cleaned and that you are as much use as a chocolate fireguard and that you were more concerned about the mass rideout that MCN had organised than an Arsonist who may have left his prints on my bike . There was much blustering and excuse making to which point I pointed out exactly where they lied in the conversation and that they had missed their chance to do some actual Police work and catch a toerag . I bid them goodbye and put the phone down .

A slow painful fate, then. I've got one of those saws purely for sawing the bottom off xmas trees and through Xbox accessory packaging, and it takes an age to do either (or maybe I'm a weakling)
