My name is Cpl Richie Williams, Currently serving with 39 Engineer Regiment based at RAF Leeming North Yorkshire.
We are doing a charity bicycle ride from RAF Leeming to London in aid "The Army Benevolent Fund"
From RAF Leeming we will be riding to Manchester then on to Birmingham, Oxford and finally ending in London. We are starting out on Monday the 21/09/09 at 0500 hrs and hoping to take 4 days to complete this cycle ride.
I'm a keen biker (the motorized variety) and suggested the Ace Cafe to be the final finishing post of our 300 mile cycle ride.
The cyclists (4 of them hopefully) will be arriving between 1300 hrs - 1500 hrs on Thursday the 24 September.
I was hoping that a small section (3 smart young Soldiers) could come down on the Thursday and collect money from outside of your infamous Cafe. We are not looking for an promotional work, just 3 guys rattling buckets trying to raise money for this worthy cause.

Hi Richie,

Thank you for your recent telephone enquiry and subsequent below email, further to which please be advised that I write to confirm that you and colleagues are welcome to attend the cafe for the purpose that you have described on Thursday 24th September, staying into the evening when the cafe hosts a regular monthly 'Harley' night that, in essence, finishes at approx 9.30pm, though the cafe closes at 11pm.

Kindly note that with a view to coordinating, I have copied this correspondence to Both Darren Williams and Carl Garner of the cafe's events team, with who you will liaise.

Please also note that no food or drink is to be brought onto or into the premises and that you and your colleagues will be our guests in respect of food and drinks.

Looking forward to meeting with you and trust that you all have a safe and successful ride.

Anyone else gonna make it to this tomorrow? I plan to get there and buy Richie a pint and throw some change at him, i'll aim for the bucket but we all know how bad a shot i am right, and then i'll be picking up Littlepeahead and heading over for pizza as long as all the timings work out that is of course.

i would've been coming being the jobless bum that i am, but i've got some temp work over the next few days so can't make it. hope all has gone well for you all!

My lads will be setting up at IKEA first then moving on to the Ace later in the morning / Afternoon.

My boss recons that we will have to leave London at 5pm to get to a familys event in Cambridge later that evening... for a BBQ / Beers at my Units HQ.
