Nar- leave em to it- as said above, they eat all sorts of other nasties.
Spiders are pretty cool once you get over the legs thing... |

Oh, I feel for you mate, I really do. My sister has had asthmatic attacks before because of spiders. You should have seen the one I had in the house this morning. It was like a small tarantula. I knew when I found it that it was just a common house spider, just obviously had fab food as it was the biggest house spider I have ever seen. I did manage to catch it with my amazing spider catcher, but it was actually so big that it took a few attempts and usually even the normally big spiders can't even move in it. I actually walked across the road to get rid of it. I can't kill them though as they haven't actually done anything wrong and are fascinating creatures.
If you really do have that serious a phobia, I suggest you get some hypnotherapy. It's not good for you to have to live like this and you'll never get your garden spider free, nor should you want to. Spiders are one of the really important species in our ecosystem, without them, the world literally wouldn't be the same. Get yourself some help and there's no need to kill them, it won't help as you've found out. Just get a spider catcher and put them over the garden fence. ![]() http://www.iwantoneofthose.com/spide...her/index.html |

GG - the spider catcher is still too close! We've had this discussion! I spent all evening running around my room with a trainer and a drumstick in my hand trying to eliminate one....but I lost it and I am a bit scared about sleeping now..

Apparently spiders hate chestnuts. So in your shed chuck a chestnut in each corner of the shed see if that sorts it out?

Anyway- couldn't bring myself to kill a spider or anything (even a wasp) unless I really have to. Spiders especially as they are amazing. Unless you live in Oz. Or some parts of the U of SA. But then it's just self defence! |
