Daft quaestion, are the UK ones identified by a full UK vin plate?

If you had one laid up taht hadnt been run for ages would it be worth dropping the engine and doing a strip, check with it all on a bench?

Ive got one (NC35) that may become a track bike, may become a streetbike, not sure yet. Its not really been run or ridden for a few years. Clutch doesnt engage for ages, few issues, was a dog to get started. So would it be worth my while dropping the whole shebang and having a bit of a strip/clean/fettle?

They only did the NC30 as a UK bike, I'm not super up on the differences tbh, the 400 forum has them listed if you want to know.

I wouldn't bother dropping the engine but I would do valve clearances and clean/sort the carbs, that along with new plugs should sort the starting. Very excellent bikes as track bikes, If I didn't have the SV I'd be very happy with one (although I also have one as a track bike *ahem*) as shown here in post cadwell falling off glory

Oh yes and talking about starting, the technique is full choke, *no* throttle, if you go for throttle it floods and then it's a pig to start (I've got it down pat but I know if I flood it just to forget it on the starter and go straight for bumping it).

+1, no need to strip motor - they have gear driven valve trains, so no wories about cam chains or cham chain tensioners. Just run a full service as prescribed by FD there

Not Sure why you'd want one if you've got a blade... 2t or supermoto?

I'm really looking for something to play with over winter, and to try & keep the miles down on the Blade (it's going to hit 30k any day now, I've done 5.5k in just over 2 months). Ideally a supermoto of some sort, that I can also use off-road too, but they're damn expensive down here, and I just rather quite like the wee VFR's.

I've not decided on anything yet, I just knew a few of the lads on here had VFR400s so thought I'd pick the collective Org's brains a bit.

My dad has ridden his NC24 more in the past 3 months than he has his GSXR. I think he prefers the fact he can ride slower than he does on his GSXR, but still have to work hard. And he likes how the back brake isn't useless

I think hondas little V4's are a complete gem, and a little bit of RC30 / RC45 that we can all own

+1

We love them so much we have 3[1] of the little buggers and one[2] of the not so little buggers.

Druid

[1] 4 if you count a frame and an an engine to be a bike.
[2] Again two if you count an engine and frame to be a bike!

00 SV700S - Track toy - Not Charging
'94 RVF400R - NC35#1 - Bent and Broken
'95 RVF400R - NC35#2 - Total Electrical Failure
'97 RVF400R - NC35#3 - In Bits

Aint exactly the best advert.

Think Kingston must be the current NC30 capitol - usually spot 3 parked up in the bays
