Still I am not sure what to do and I called to local Suzuki service. I discussed with mechanic which has good reputation here and he had repaired a lot of SV bikes. He said this:
- It is absolutely sure that this 1.50mm is too big gap. Now bike is dangerous - He have not heard that any SV has this problem - He didn't have idea what to do. He don't have time before middle of January to check this At the moment I think better way is to machine 1.50mm away from bearing spacer and not to put any spacer. Probably nobody here can give me any instructions UNLESS there is somebody who has had same problem. For me it is hard to believe that I am the only one who has this unusual problem. If someone has possibility to measure width of the swing arm at the point where bearing spacers contact swing arm, I would be interested to know it. Bearing spacer length was exactly 40.0mm and I believe it is what it should. So center spacer or swing arm are in wrong dimension. |

IIRC curvy has a black cap/dust seal over that end of swingarm. Have you checked in parts fiche that you are not missing something?

Try :
www.pieces-suz.com A French microfiche source which seems to have more detail than some others. Best of luck!

Yes, curvy has some kind of dust cap but pointy don't have it. I have now examined this issue and I am sure that nothing is missing in my bike. No dust cap or shim plates.
It would be interesting to know if someone can measure that gap from the bike. For example if someone is making chain changing or some winter service. In my case I can feel gap easily when wheel and all parts are in their place and wheels are on the ground. When back wheel is off-ground (raised from the roof and frame, not from swing) then it is easier to feel the gap. But when wheel and shock absorber are removed from the bike, gap feels very very big (i.e. swing moves much sideways). |
