Good morning all. Pain aint they! If it's the bolts holding the two halves of the caliper together. I.E. The heads of the bolts have rounded out, you can carefully drill the heads off the bolts, & then separate the two caliper halves. Pleanty of heat, penetrant, & gripping the shank of the bolt with a suitable pair of 'Mole' grips whilst holding the caliper half in the vice usually does the trick. If you have seized pistons, providing the pistons are protruding somewhat, you can often get a jubilee clip around the protruding part of the piston. This will enable you to grip the pistons with some force without damaging them. Heat the caliper half up with your trusty blowtorch, & then whilst gripping the caliper half in the vice, try & rotate the piston. This usually breaks the grip of the cruddy seals, & you can then draw the piston out of the caliper body with a twisting motion. There is a very good tool available for caliper overhauling. It comprises of a set of expanding inserts that fit inside the piston, which can then be rotated, thus turning the piston, & one can use the twisting technique for drawing it out. It also comes with a slide hammer attachment for really stubborn beggars. Although I have to say I rarely have to use the slide hammer, as the heat & twist method usually does the trick.
