Ok Dave

you wanted the transplant as you were not happy with the donor. You said it wasn't handling right. Were any of your symptoms above present on the donor?.

We had to transplant the outer bearing race and lack of tools meant it was tapped in using a socket, and a lack of c spanner meant tapping up the nut. having ridden the bike you may have settled the bearing and the head is now a tad loose. Check that.

Brakes well you did them after I left so don't know what you did/didn't do.

Did you remove the front wheel from the forks at any time on sunday. Otherwise spacers etc would have been as the donor bike.

how was the handling when those forks were originally on the S, before you moved them onto the naked and then put them back on the original frame?

Yes folks a lot of this job was to put parts back onto the bike they originally came from.

get the front wheel off and check the wheel balance, if this is out of balance it will cause problem 3 and if its a bad out of balance it can effect your feeling in the brake i believe.

check the carbs for air leaks and the balance. or possible oil levels for the engine.

1, See No. 3
2, Carb Balance may help, YC sorted mine out I've just greeced the choke plungers and that made a difference as well. may help , if they have already been balanced then make sure the bolt used to plug the little hose connected to the carbs (left on to make a carb balance easier in future) is properly blocked, a bit of air leaking here would cause nasty noises.
3, If the wheels have been sat the bearings may be wrecked, try new bearings and check the speedo drive is seated correctly, if the teeth dont align I can see that causing some issues.

Ignore all this Dave, just seen Irsky's post in the Rivvy thread.

Dave, will you be over or do you want me over to yours?

Could get there about 5 prolly. Then if needed, I can pillion you to mine and you can take it. Or come over to mine instead and get it in the garage.
