Agreed,if someone hasnt touched a drop of 'intoxicating liquor' but is incapable of controlling the vehicle as they are on drugs then the field test catches them on that, I have gotten a few good arrests from this.

If they're still suspicious they can administer the usual blood/breath/urine tests.

I just think it would make more sense to do it the other way round. i.e. road side breath test gives a more scientific and quicker and safer (don't have people stumbling about beside a busy road) result. If they pass that, then do the impairment tests to catch any other reason they are impaired.
