So you have the airel plugged in directly to the tv and it doesnt go through the sky box? all of the sky boxes in my house the tv airel goes into it and then another wire comes out the sky box and goes into the airel port of the tvs

No, arial is not going through sky box. Sky box is not even connected to the telly ATM

Have you check the cable run to make sure the cable connected to the roof aerial is connected properly, if so is pointing the right way?

If you in a low signal area, lost of hills, buildings around where you live? Where is the ariel? Then you might need a singnal booster to increase the singal strengh they are cheap enough, and normally run of mains power. (my folks have to do that, to get a tv picture.)

Worth looking online to see the signal strengh and coverage in your area, also ask ppl where you are what they do to get Tv signal.

I don't know why I'm trying to help you but, take your tv and plug it in to one of the other aerial sockets that you know is working

Like I said, 2 other TV's are working fine, got decent signal strength here as we have had switch over.

How am I being snidey? Folk are askign questions and I am answering them.

As it is a digital signal a lot depends on the strength of the signal and providing you are using a proper digital ariel you may[could be wrong] need to add a booster signal for the extra sets
I take it from your description the old telly with the digi box is analogue,the second one is digital working direct on freeview
