Not seen the films yet, so they're probably going to ruin the books for me anyway lol

"Perfect Victim" is what I'm on at the moment.

The true story of Colleen Stan, kidnaped and held as a slave for 7 years.

Call me odd but I cant seem to put it down.

Its not the sort of thing that I usually read but this (although written as if dumbing down a fair bit) has sparked a kind of sick interest.

How anyone can kidnap someone, completely break down their persona and mental attitude and rebuild them to be almost a willing slave is completely beyond me

Just coming to the end of Bill Bryson's "Made in America" - a great read about how America and all things intrinsically American were shaped and what defines America as a nation.

EDIT: I don't read nearly as much as I'd like to - nowadays I deliberately take my just washed clothes to the launderette in town so I can have an hour or so of pure reading time with nothing to bother me while everything is in the tumble dryers. Truth be known I can dry them for free in our brilliant airing cupboard overnight. This year I'm going to make an effort to read more at home, so I don't need to do this

The Appeal by John Grisham.
Just a trashy novel, but it's the first book I've read in 10, maybe 15 years. All because of some comment speedplay made on here.
