"Perfect Victim" is what I'm on at the moment.
The true story of Colleen Stan, kidnaped and held as a slave for 7 years. Call me odd but I cant seem to put it down. |

![]() Its not the sort of thing that I usually read but this (although written as if dumbing down a fair bit) has sparked a kind of sick interest. How anyone can kidnap someone, completely break down their persona and mental attitude and rebuild them to be almost a willing slave is completely beyond me ![]() |

Just coming to the end of Bill Bryson's "Made in America" - a great read about how America and all things intrinsically American were shaped and what defines America as a nation.
EDIT: I don't read nearly as much as I'd like to - nowadays I deliberately take my just washed clothes to the launderette in town so I can have an hour or so of pure reading time with nothing to bother me while everything is in the tumble dryers. Truth be known I can dry them for free in our brilliant airing cupboard overnight. This year I'm going to make an effort to read more at home, so I don't need to do this Last edited by Lozzo; 07-01-10 at 01:16 AM. |

The Appeal by John Grisham.
Just a trashy novel, but it's the first book I've read in 10, maybe 15 years. All because of some comment speedplay made on here. ![]() |
