i-phone or Nokia N97 mini?

Another vote for i-phone. (I had a N96 8GB up until 7 month ago)

N97 is nice, and it has that lovely touch of a keyboard you can type on.
I've got the 5800 which runs the same software and I'm very happy, and all the people that I know who have the N97 seem very happy with it too. If the mini had been out when I got my 5800, I'd have got that.
The i-phone just seems over kill, with a awful contract due to the huge phone cost most of the plans are very limited, but then it seems very 'sheep' to me. Also I don't like the size of the thing, it doesn't feel like a phone, more like a pda, which is not what I wanted first. I wanted phone first pda second, so even for a little geek like myself the Nokia does everything that I want.

Both phones will do this easy, the i-phone lets you check e-mails and the nokia now has a 'blackberry' like app that lets you sync with you e-mails.
Both can text though it depends on how you feel about touch screens and keypads, with the Nokia having a full keyboard I have used similar and typed out some very complicated messages with it, so it helps alot. Touch screen can be a little odd to get used to, but I have seen the i-phone keyboard works, but like all mistakes will happen. So if I was you I'd get a demo of both in the store, but I will say I found the full keyboard using your thumbs very easy.

I like the idea of GPS for when I get lost on the bike (but that only happens when Mr LPH is leading the way! ) and although having a camera and MP3 player is good, I always carry a compact camera in my bag and listen to the radio on my current handset more than music.

Both will do this easy, with both having software to install on the PC that will enable you to pull this information to. Remember just cus you see it on the relevent Apple/Nokia store does not mean you have to download it from them.

I also recommend copilot, its avaliable for android too.

I've been using Copilot on windows mobile for 2 years now and it is every bit as good as Tom Tom (used that previously) I don't understand anyone that buys Tom Tom when it's so much more expensive.

i have a iphone ....mate has the n97. he regrest getting it. Says the touch screen is no wehere near the same capability of the iphone. cant even scroll roll on it. plus for 59pyou can now add video camera to iphone!

I'm a dedicated Nokia user, and I recommend iPhone. It's just the simplest get-the-job-done phone that exists, and it does everything. Nokias might be higher spec, but they're just that bit harder to use.

maybe not upgrade, but i'd be getting on the phone to o2 and asking them to put you onto the simplicity rollin monthly contract! my contract is now down to £25ish a month for 600mins plus unlimited txt bolt on. now the iphone isnt expensive at all!

oh and if your in an 18/24 month contract, once your half way through the contract you can ask to drop one tariff. i wasnt using all my minutes and had the ulimited text bolt on, so managed to save another £10 a month for the last half of my contract!
