I think I'm right in saying that, whilst EU law trumps UK law, the UK legislation is in force until repealed. So if anyone wants to contest a conviction brought under S44, they have to escalate to ECHR to overrule. Although I could well be wrong.

And was an 'average' protest rather than a 'good' one.

I'm glad this demo got some air time on London Tonight too. Bloody good cause and another one of our simple freedoms these idiots are trying to take away from us.

your absence was noted - we assumed you were at the "I'm a terrorist not a photographer" demo instead.

By these idiots, I hope you include terrorists in that.
I remember the good 'ole days when you could go through an airport without getting undressed at security and once on board you could go and have a look at the flight deck.
I blame the Terrorists that you can't do that anymore and expect it just to get worse

No Stu, i blame the corrupt and oppressive govt of the new world order who drive people to acts of terrorism.lets not forget none of these people would be driven to their extreme actions if life for them was good and just, right?

OK the ultra religious jihadists who want the whole world to be muslim may do, in much the same way as David Koresh as a christian did some crazy thing too. However the vast majority of terrorism is a reaction from people who feel they have nothing else left but to give their own life in a futile attempt to get some revenge for wrongs done to them.

Your average guy dont get up one fine morning and think i'll go strap some explosives to myself and bring down a plane or kill lots of innocent people without a reason.

Ahh interesting I hadn't thought that.

Having read Sid's 70 yrs secret PM on David Kelly. I do feel the 'what can we do helplessness'

Can't we just go back to us all playing nicely together?

If only we could eh mate? But no sadly the way forward for us all is further globalisation and thus furthering the idea of the new world order for one world govt. That way those already in charge in the background will have it easier to have one world govt do their bidding as opposed to having to overthrow certain pesky individuals who wont bow down to their whims and evil ways.

Saddam was not a good man by any measure but his country was far more stable and economically profitable for the people who live d there in the last 20yrs than it will be for the next 20yrs, if not more. Thats just one recent example of course. History if full of examples where those who havent played ball have been overthrown/assassinated or otherwise "replaced" with those friendly to the world rulers.

Did you see the recent documentary on Simon Mann and his coup attempt? he blatantly said how they go about doing these things for nothing more than greed. Greed for more money and more power.

Zig, for all the clever you got you are way off the money here. Referring solely to the obvious terrorist threat facing the UK right now:

Islamic extremism didn't exist until quite recently and is an extremely cynical political invention, note; political, not religious - it's a very easy and brilliantly efficient way of getting stupid angry young men with all the angst that teenagers the world over suffer from to prostitute their faith, (and ultimately in some cases their lives), into the service of greed for political power.

There is no such thing as a Jihad - are you dumb enough to have your beliefs subverted to the service of a liars greed for power? You are! Excellent sir, sign up for your virgins here. Idiots.

Oh but it did mate. It just wasn't broadcast to the western world and the western media to translate. Dont forget it was islamic fundamentalists who took over my country. Its was under the guise of religion (though i fully agree that religion as always is being used as a tool of politics) that they said it was acceptable to remove the make up off a womans face using sand paper to scar her for life.
They never said it was their politics that allowed them to do this.

My side of the world has had many a fundamentalist group seek power in certain regions but mostly they have failed. Look at the talibanis, they took political power under religious guises too and they use ti to justify all kinds of abhorrent behaviour.

So it has existed but as we both agree its only a guise to political power but sadly one they also live by.
