He said he wanted to leave the fairing lowers on for full effect, but decided not to on realising they'd get smashed without actually crashing.

Also that bike apparently has flatslides with open bellmouths "rocks go in, rocks go out"

I love my '06 V-Tec... but I am pushing 52. It has a pipe rack, and a pair of slippers.

Kicks lovely at 6800rpm, like having a turbo.

Rictus, what milage did your brothers VFR have on it when he brought it?

The local honda shop have a tidy VFR going for about 3k with 25,000 miles on it, i waswondering how reasonable that was

i think i need someone to have a look at the bike with me. I spotted the footrest and gear lever were bent, whcih the guy in the shop said they'd replace. Other area's looked tidy (even had a scottoiler) but there were some other discrepencies...paint on rear wheel wasnt great. Fairings looked all original and I had a look at the rads through the forks, they looked ok.

I wont be buying the first one i see though

Bu FD - i think your right. VFR's with gear driven cams...whats there to worry about, so long as its actualy ben serviced cam chain tensioner problems? nope

I think you'll find similar machines are already available for under £2k. Yes 25000 is very low mileage for VFR but it doesn't mean you should pay over the odds.

Could be a sign that bike was dropped either way.

Other reason for not going V-tec, no gear driven cams.

But forget about mileage, condition is *everything*. At 25k probably not even needs valve clearances doing. FWIW I bought mine just short of 27k, it's now got over 70k on it. I replaced the engine on mine at 68k but purely because of snapped bolts in getting it out to replace the downpipes! It was just cheaper to do that than to get the bolts removed.

11k I think, but was dealer bought, I think he got first service labour or something like that thrown in, I went to see it with him, I'd guess it was someones toy, didn't look like it had been commuted at any stage.

Cheers Mark

Thanks for the thoughts there chaps. Yea, i took the bent levers as a sign of the bike being dropped. how badly dropped I don't know.

Thanks for the opinon on the price of the bike, I thought it was a little high aswell.

More searching I shall do
