Donington lost BSB as well.

The circuit has already been saved anyway with everything reopened except the circuit itself, this event is just a show of support.

Rumor has it that by Friday next week the announcement will be made that the circuit is under the control of jonny palmer at MSV.

I'm not saying you are wrong ... just that I've never experienced it that bad for a long time now .....

Why don't you come up and check it out !!
I won't go back until I've had at least two reports from seperate events saying you can actually get in and out in a reasonable time. Brands Hatch is down similar roads leading to the motorway, as is Oulton Park and Cadwell is even worse, and they manage it fine with a similar number of spectators on BSB weekends - why can't Donington?

If that's the case then I may well be going back there sooner than I thought. MSV look after their paying customers and at least give them clean toilets and decent food facilitiies to make use of, things Donington's previous management teams have woefully neglected for many many years. People have been complaining about the state of the facilities (especially the loos around the circuit) for as long as I've been going racing, which was the early 80s, and nothing has changed there. MSV might even sort out the access.

I think that would be a great result all round.

Not at all, I'll quite happily drop my trews and take a crap the other side of a fence, and cook my own food outside my tent on a Trangia when I need to, but when I'm paying as much as Donington charge for admission I expect better facilities.

When Danny and I go racing we see the differences in circuits. If we are doing a round at an MSV circuit we know there will be clean and hot showers to use, garages with power and lighting (and doors - Mallory Park take note), a good bar with nice food available in the main buildings and decent bogs. When we go to Donington or Mallory we are always seriously disappointed with the facilities - Mallory does do good grub though, but everything else is poor by anyone's standards, especially the lack of garages and abysmal paddock area. Even Lydden Hill has upped their game recently and put in some new toilets.

Toilets at Lydden?Blimey they will have an access road and sheds there next!

Actually I really like Lydden.I grew up near there and used to climb in through the fence as a kid to watch the racing.

Save it from what?

I think support is better aimed at circuits at risk of being closed by whinging ********s who didn't think racing would make any noise when they moved there from that London or wherever you find such scum.

Save a race circuit, go set fire to whichever house within earshot has a prius parked outside

Much as it pains me I do have to agree with Lozzo about the organization at Donnington. Mind you we did come up with the perfect solution for last years Moto GP. We went up on the Friday, camped over the entire meeting, then Monday morning went and took the mickey out of the Ducati chaps as they dismantled their paddock before spending the afternoon doing a track day around the circuit! I don't recall any problems getting in and out...
