You have been consistently speeding for every one of those 17 years haven't you? Done over 100? Done double the limit? Answer yes.

But now you've been caught you're right to be gutted. You'll probably lose your job, certainly you're girlfriend will leave you. In 6 months tops you'll be living in a carboard box, just like everybody else with 3 points on their licence.

Id give it ago, if they are going to book you ffs get it right.

Tell me about it was bout 2am in the morning i was going down a 40 zone that had been reclassified to 30 for like a 1/2 mile stretch before a 50. No signs and the git was hiding in a hedge also.

Sadly i didnt have the cash to fight it so paid. The speeding system is a joke and no more than a money making scheme......

If you think you can wriggle out of it do so. You werent harming anyone and if they could do you for dangerous driving they would try that one as well.

Plus if the reg is wrong just say well look if they guy cant get my reg right why should you take his word on a speeding charge.

Because of their inane ability to change the speed limit and enforce it without putting up the correct signs.

I tried using that one on my 1st offence, had changed from a 40 down to a 30mph, as it happened there was a change in the signage, just pi$$ poor observation by myself

Wasnt there a study showing cameras actually caused more accidents. Regardless they are on roads that dont need em most of the time and the speed limits are set tooo low. dont get me wrong i stay on the speed limits after my ticket but the whole system is setup for making money and theres no way you can fight it unless your loaded. So even if they made a mistake (and they do often i'd bet) you still get fined n points. Plus no one actually tries to educate you as to why you need to slow down, or takes into account the circumstances.

Maybe i'm bias as the police have never helped me when i needed them but were more than happy to chase me for a speeding fine.

We all speed occasionally, and i for one am all for speed limits around schools, villages and busy areas because it does help reduce accidents, and the severity of injuries when accidents do occur, i have 3 kids and if this reduces the risk to them then it's only a good thing.

Whether you were speeding or not i'd just pay the fine and take it on the chin, call it karma for all those times you've broken the speed limit and got away with it.

I live next to the A1 and use it every day. There is a large police presence in the area but still i have the odd moment where i end up riding above the 70 limit (). One day i will get caught, it will be my fault and i will pay up and take the points.

Whether it's a money making scheme or not it's the law and the police are there to enforce it. When my kids are old enough to drive/ride i want to make sure they are as safe as possible on the roads and if the police enforcing speed limits assists keeps them driving at sensible speeds then there'll be no complaints from me.
