Thats what they wanna do with me tbh but dont know when im doing another kitchen.
They could just inflate the price anyway.
Their delivery and customer services are crap, kitchens are good for the money.
Same customer has made 3 amendments to plans so they send the ktichen out to first 1, so most of the stuff had to go back.
They lost me a £15k job as well because they didnt contact the client quick enough and they went somewhere else, there was a conservatory there as well.

Nope, not that unusual at all in the IT industry I'm afraid. Pi$$es me off too, but until you've got some money or a legally binding purchase order, just don't count your chickens. I've even had letters of intent from customers, who have then backed out or contracted with somebody else.

so i go away and open up paypal, and just as i go to send it i remember, paypal charge commission!

so i email her as its a tad late in the night now just explaining the situation and ask if she would do a bank tranfere instead.#

She comes back with one sentence "Would a cheque be okay"

i say yes and tell her who to write it to, i also ask if she would like me to come and pick it up.
If she felt more comfortable using paypal, then your agreeing but subsequently asking her for different (and less protected ) form of payment, might have put her off.

If you were buying a car off ebay and you didn't know the seller, and they changed their mind about how they wanted paying, would you feel the same? Might have been better to see the commission charge as an overhead and take the hit.

Just a thought.

You actually have a point there, take money as soon as you can get it as a bird in the hand and all that.
I have done the same thing a few times, asked for different forms of payment after completing a job then waited ages to get it when i should have taken first method.

I think its perhaps a little harsh on the customer considering you didnt actually have to produce anything yet, things happen and people change their minds over things. Had they commisioned the work and you spent time on it then fair enough.
