Well if you do consider a bench only you will be surprised how that bench feels solid and not flimsy at all. The Argos folding ones do not have good reviews at all and the reason I went for the one I did is the good reviews by some mens health magazines. They also do a folding one with spotting posts attached I think and do not see why it would not be as well put together. Unlike some they are preasembled. Hope you find something suitable.

On the marcy i used two dumbell bars as spotters, they slot in nicely.
