But that would be a silly thing to do on brake discs...
Suzuki have done that with the rear disks where the anti corrosion coating reaches the braking surface but seem to have omitted that on the front ones.

Its for looks. Its only some sort of paint on the rear disc...you could probably paint it yourself if you are carefull

Or even if you're not, any paint will get scrubbed off the friction surface

'not fit for purpose' and 'could turn into a danger under breaking' spring to mind.

ooohhh and suzuki uk will just say take it to your nearest dealer.

Odd, I have an 08 750, I will check my brake discs later today but pretty sure it's fine and not like that. And I've had it coming up to 2 years now! (albeit, I don't take it out in the wet if I can help it, as I have 2 bikes )

Been out today and looked at all our bikes.
Suzy's discs are defo not like that(EBC). Dave well his are a little more dubious but then its ridden in anything(Stealth waveys)

and Pegs 2008 zzr1400 with 23000 miles put on it since July last year.....aren't like that(slight rust if that), but hey big difference in mileage, and its ridden everywhere, and kept outside!
Is it possible the bobbin thingies(them round things holding the disc on the carrier) are inferior quality and leaking out corrosion into the disc itself, we noticed its only inbetween each bobbin thingy.

My ex-hayabusa frontend was never that bad even after ~25k (plus what ever the bike it came from had done) and that was ridden through all weathers and barely cleaned.
This is the best I have of the disks but even then you can see they aren't rusty (unlike lots of the bolts!)
