Good job you didn't see behind because I was heading in a very similar direction to what Sean was. I think I was more shocked that he walked away just a little bit dirty. After all it was (IMO) a big crash.

This coming rideout will be the first time I've seen the bike since that day.

What about the christmas meal?

i think it could've been nasty, but I was lucky enough that it wasn't too serious. Though I wasn't too impressed that I had a soft landing followed by a bike landing on top of me

Cheers for the write up Rictus that clears up quite a few things in my head.
Sean, I'm going to hold on to the original route, for a couple of reasons but also that finishing in Hunstanton will leave me, at least, with a further couple of hours to ride home on mainly crap roads.
Cheers Pete and Lissa for the TEC offer. Sounds like a plan to me.
KJ, I'm only a Primary trained teacher so counting in weeks is way above my knowledge level
I have kept the route to a couple of hours as I feel it will be long enough to make it worth while, but not a big stress for new/not confident riders, and we have scope to put a long one together for next time. And I've never done anything like this before as I only ride the same 20 miles to and from work each day (apart from riding twice with Skip and twice with JimmyJames over the last three years). See the finished route below. I have gone with Pete's suggestion of meeting at Redlodge as a sheltered meet and finish point may be welcome even if I have been a good boy and booked sunshine for the day. Same meet time. Make sure you all have full tanks and a mobile just in case.
Be good people, and look after those bikes

Fair enough, I'll be there more to see people again/ meet new people than the ride anyway

Just adding this to my subscribed threads so I can decide on it nearer the time. Pete & Lissa, we could ride over together if we both attend?

That's how I'm seeing it to Sean. It would be good to put some names to faces.
Ralph - The more the merrier

Do I need to put an off road section in the route?
