Well no but it has done the biggest/most painful chunk of it.
I like depreciation proof bikes, if you buy scabby heaps then you can break them and make profit ![]()

I you can afford it, and you're planning on keeping the bike for a few years, then it's great to buy a brand new bike. Do some research first though. Is the model likely to be replaced in the near future? An end of line model might well depreciate quicker. I had a voicemail from Swindon Triumph this morning asking if I wanted to test ride a Sprint ST. However, that model will be 5 years old this year, so I'm expecting it to be replaced by a new bike in the autumn. So I'd be wary about buying one new for that reason.
If you like to change bikes frequently, then look for a used one. |

Had 2 new. 6 Used.
Can't beat getting an unmolested bike. More special. Both new bikes were the perfect bike at the time and 1st year models. I don't change bikes very often though. |

Not always a good idea to buy the first of a new model ..... normally loads of teething problems with a new model ..

You'll note that nobody who bought a new one has posted here that they regret it, but as with all things it is up to the OP to decide if he get the value from the price he pays... |

As for buying new, like some have said above. If you are planning on keeping the bike, then why not. Even on finance (0% of course), take out the gap insurance and go enjoy for many years.
But if you may fancy a change after 1-2 years, then I would suggest second hand.
