my view on this sort of thing is you have to do what you want to do. if it's something you enjoy then do it. i know my parents aren't overly keen on me riding, but they have no choice in the matter and they know i'm fairly sensible and i absolutely love riding. so no one is going to stop me or put me off, unless i decide i don't want to any more for some reason.

Chris, unfortunately, having cash at the moment is not an option, I have to go on a big save and I should think the first time I have any form of money to buy a bike will be this summer.

well i will probably still have it in the summer and am starting to really look at another bike so that might conicide nicely

Aha, in that case you should try and extol the virtues of a bike more suited to knee-down...they aren't going to want you trying knee-downs on a bike as 'capable' as a cruiser, putting your life at risk unnecessarily...

"it'll make me safer on the roads mam, honest it will!"

not implying you speak like that, i just found it funny

Hmm

My bike is off the road and 80 miles away, or a good 3 hour public transport journey.

And I don't miss it at all

Same here.. sold my bike in Nov and don't miss it one bit. Right now I am appreciating the ability to live longer rather than the ability to feel a bit of wind in my face (no, i dont mean someone teabagging me either..)

Rent a bike for a weekend soon if you get mega withdrawl symptoms. Job jobbed. And then run over your own foot for old time's sake
