SV650 curvy, top speed?

well ya got bigger balls than me , I got 110 out of my higher geared SV, then Speedy Clair went past on her faster pointy at 115!!

Must admit it wasn't me but my ex that got 135 out of Suzy, but then some light came on, so he duely switched her off before she went eeeeeeek! It was some years ago, when he'd not had her long.

I got to 115 then the little voices in the back of my head started "youve got three kids what the hell do ya think you're doing?", so i dropped back to about 95...... like that's gonna be any less disastrous if it all goes pear-shaped, doh!!!

I was most disapponited that my bike is 2 mph slower, than someones else bike...I would suspect mine does 70.9mph

Yea, people are like, "how fast did you go? What happens if.....?" and I answer that falling off at the legal limit is likely to be pretty nasty anyway

That's why I never speed, or would have had a whisker under 150 on my cammed-up curvy speedo. No sir-eee

Well it wont be me. Mine wouldn't hit 120 in top gear last night. Okay it was a bit windy so maybe it wasn't as bad as I thought. I was really asking an as indicator of fuelling as I thought mine felt a little breathless and I'm running a BMC street and end can thought I might need to up my main jets etc blah.

How many of you are running a calibrated speedo? Tucked in and flat on the tank behind the screen my fully faired pointy would show 140 on the speedo but 125 on the GPS. These figures sort of agree with the fact that the majority of speedo,s read 10% over
It is not just the SV speedo that is like this,my Sprint ST shows 80mph when doing 71-72mph according to the GPS AND a calibrated police speedo and lazer 20-20

I only got to 180 Kph ~ 111 Mph out of my '00 curvy but it was scary enough.. never really had the urge to push her past that.
It's not the speed it's how you get there for me I guess.

Edit : Indicated, probly about 100 mph in real world figures

i had speedo reading 120MPH on my 2000 SV650S rev counter wasnt near the red sector so was plenty left

Had 125 out of my old SV coming back through France, Thats was with a fully loaded bergen strapped to my back and the aerodynamics of a hay bale!

Doesn't it feel like you're straining the bike though? I just love 'er too much and feel like I'm hurting her.. (just avoiding the truth here, I know : chicken )
