that green block packed up on me but it was dead on key, if his lights are coming on then i would doubt that would be the prob. its the reg/rec for sure replace it with a cbr unit!! *runs and hides*

All fixed me pal come round reconnected a lead and brum brum brum the beast lives again, thanks for the help lads your a bunch of stars...

it was a small blue like connector which plugged in to two prongs it was right under the main beam switch when we were taking it out the van i must of grabbed it and pulled it out then bent them my pal said i was lucky not to have snapped them i will take a picture tomorrow, so you can tell me what i did..

If an SV650 has a flat tyre in the forest and no-one is there to blow it up, how long will it be 'til someone posts that the reg/rec is duff and the world will end unless a CBR unit is fitted? A little bit of knowledge = a dangerous thing.

I never agree with anyone who says to rip out the alarm cause they are always the part at fault.
Had my alarm in one of my bikes since I bought it and its never failed(three yrs now) It would be my last place to look. I have a suspect reg rec problem on it at the moment, but I know the signs to look for on that one, but no way would I let anyone near the alarm, take it out and hit it with a big hammer, until I'd exhausted all other usual suspects.
Its very very rare the alarm is the culprit IMO.

clutch or sidestand switch seem to play up if not looked after from time to time.
