funny enough i own both the ECU and the washer restrictors but only have the washer one fitted as i have the legit paper work for them. Also i dont rid heavy on the throttle at all as my rid is pretty much straight at 70-80mph for about 15 minutes twice a day. i have both the washers in the engine and a throttle restrictor so i only get half of the turn i should get.
i plan to do my test again now i am over 21 as this might save me a bit of money on fuel which would pay towards a little bit of the price of the test. and as its almost summer let me have bit more fun on the bike. reguarding the darker exhaust fumes not sure if my bike does this as only time shows dark smoke is in cold condisions |

Fit the ECU restrictor because it does a better job and is easier to derestrict once your 2 years is up. YOU DO NOT LEGALLY NEED A RESTRICTION CERTIFICATE |

filled mine up today with V power, first refill after fitting the carbs, tank, etc etc (long list) 55.5 miles to the gallon so happy with that, wasn't hard riding though as I'm still testing so was very laid back.

thanks for all the responses to my problem and yeah i think could be combination of all the problems. i plan to retake test to lift restriction so should see actual amount but i am geting about 120-140 out of the tank between fill ups of about £15 worth of petrol. (as prices go up i know this doesnt help but average £1.15 per litre !
yes bike is fully faired. i plan to buy cbr600rr or r6 or dytona soon any ways and i guess i wont get good MPG for them but damn i will fly lol. thanks for all replies was very usefull. Guru many thanks for lots of solid numbers was most useful to know |

I did over 210 miles on my SV K6... when I filled up I only put 14 litres in so still some way to go. I think it worked out at around about 65 to 66 mpg... This was doing 65 - 70 mph all the way up the A1 to Croft and back down again. It was horribly boring, would never want to do it again but its achievable.
In contrast I have done nearlly 40mpg on the 600rr once, the rest of the time its under 30mpg, worst case its well under 20mpg. |
