Yeh, I missed the last sentence, so shoot me?!?!(thats you shooting me btw.)

I think its a bit ridiculous to be honest that so much moisture has got into it through you putting it in your pocket. I could understand if you said you dropped it in the hot tub but just from a pair of wet jeans?

thanks for the tips. Defo not gutsy enough to try the alcohol method though.

I could perhaps live without a camera I suppose, and hopefully it'll the other malfunctions will sort themselves out as the rice soaks it up good. Worst case scenario, I'm sure there are specialist non apple repair services for phones (hopefully)!

na I think I'm quite lucky in that there isn't soo much moisture. Otherwise it probably wouldn't turn on, let alone the little malfunctions.

The jeans were drenched, and the phone went into the pocket shortly after (yeh I'm a tit). I thought nothing of it, but lesson learnt I suppose.

How old is it? Please tell me you don't have a new one and haven't bothered with insurance?

yeeh its new alright. I used to have insurance on phones, but then it didn't come out as cost effective I saw.

£7 x 24 months = £168 - add the £50 you pay when you actually wanna claim and that's £210 - I figured not really worth it. I guess you could cancel the policy early near the end of the phones life and save some dosh.

I'm sure if it requires a bit of reparing though it shouldn't be too much hopefully.

I might be tempted to do that later on if the rice thing doesn't work. taking off the back of an iphones not that straightforward, and it voids the warranty as well, so I'll use that as a last resort I think.

Yeh but is a new iPhone not worth something like £300, if not more??? It's typical though, when you have insurance, nothing happens but when you get a phone and don't take the insurance, you do something silly!
