For Ice Hockey fans!

Well we have to have something to do for the 5-6 months that we cant ride. I finally got my bike out this weekend, it was October last year when I put it away.

On the issue of hockey being unappreciated in the States, when Tampa Bay won the Stanley Cup in 2004 (beating the Calgary Flames) they were interviewing people 1/4 mile away from the Stadium on the seventh game night who didnt even know they were playing! I think you could have asked an Inuit who was playing and they would have known.

Yeh I have a cousin that lives in Windsor, Ontario. Been there a few times actually. He aways used to tell me his gixxer was just a summer toy. But I'd trade Ice hockey like that for half a yr off bike. For the first 18years of my life I'd just be playing loadsa hockey, so its an alright deal I suppose.

Also winters here consist of rainy dampy muddy fields. So any outdoor sports is usually compromised in quality, so you gotta take it to the turf/indoors anyway.

Looks like the Flames will be playing golf instead of hockey this spring. We have three more games left, one at home against the conference leaders and two away. They really need to win all three to get into 8th. place, and the way they have played this season that seems unlikely. So I guess there will be no Red Mile this year.

Yep two more games against the sharks (who are my fave team incidentally aint gonna be easy). But if you manage it, you'll likely end up playing the Blackhawks, so your chance to avenge your last season playoff encounter with them. Not gonna be easy!

Well we lost to the Sharks tonight (no surprise) and the Avs beat the Canucks meaning that we are out of the playoffs. Lots of Calgarians drowning their sorrows in their drinks tonight.
