As for being a minority sport... compared to golf, it is.
But why show it on 2 channels? And why advertise that they were going to show it, then pull the plug without any apology?

That was added AFTER they failed to show it I think.

Taken from here:

There's a few sports where its the same issue. I had a long email conversation with the producer from BBC Sport in Northern Ireland when the NW200 wasn't on Freeview. She said it was to do with bandwidth or summat on freeview.

On freeview there is a max of 3 screens on the red button for sport due to the bandwidth, but on Sky/Cable there is always 6 or 7 screens of sport. May be worth seeing if Freesat offers the same, at least there wouldn't be a subscription to pay.

Qualifying wasn't on freesat's red button either so that would have been a non-starter.

At least the race was worth it, even though the coverage was a bit sketchy to say the least, no footage of Stoners crash? Though cant blame the BBC as it looks like it was Moto GP TV doing the broadcast...

Will have to get working on the missus to get Sky, though for the rip-off the license fee is, the BBC could have used the other red button channels sat empty?!

I know it's not the same as watching on TV but if you wanted Eurosport on your laptop/desktop this subscription is only £3.99 a month. You'd also get 5 hours plus coverage from BSB live per round and World Supers live too.

BBC coverage of motogp sucks balls.

Can't get sky or cable and can only get slow broadband...

Curses.

I think now that JT has left MotoGP, their interest has waned further. Pathetic attempt at coverage. Literally just on at the start of the race, and disappears as soon as its finished. No in depth analysis before or after like F1, it seems like they just put it on as theyve paid for it so have to turn up. Disgraceful to think that I have to pay for this ****. The only other thing about the BBC is their radio, as I hardly watch any TV these days.
