Isn't there a criminal liability fund that you can claim the compensation from?

I guess it depends on circumstances, though- a friend had his nose broken in a new years eve attack (random one- bunch of c**ts wandering around tooled up with knuckle dusters looking for someone to hurt)- at least one was caught and convicted, but my mate got compensation from this 'fund'.

That was quite a few years ago, mind...

What the hell!!
I got fined more than that for speeding on the M5!

Still at least it's a guilty plea and on his record *sigh*

Interesting bit about compensation is that any award from the court, £400 in my case will be deducted from anything the criminal injuries compensation offer. So if he fails to pay, or £1/month and I have to wait, I would have been financially better off not getting any award from the court.
