Astonishing update, having contacted Directline and reported the matter, and getting an admission in 20 mins, they arranged there and then for a bike specific accident management co to sort out the engineers inspection and uplift.

Having pushed the bike a 100 yards or so to Hein Gericke in Purley (they were really helpful and stored it round the back by the bins to get it off the road - cakes and biccies on their way soon lads), it took a few days to get picked up. Finally heard from the acc mgmt co today, the engineer has deemed the bike a total loss, and valued the bike (an 01 x reg black curvy S model, with a couple of extras fitted) at £2125 !

Result - I only paid £900 for it last october!

RE: irony, I tried the IAM bike thing a while back, and was knocked off my bike by the instructor!

He was a good bloke though, and done everything he could make sure the insurance claim ran smoothly etc..
