like your post cause I related! First ride yesterday and feel a bit achy this morning! Did my first "bike move" as well but didn't enjoy it! I kept picturing myself keeling over into a merc or something. Might not bother with that for a while.

Would have hated to have ridden off with people watching. I waited until there was no-one in sight! Although my only experience is with training centre bikes so it immediately felt smooth and easy.

My wife has already said I am practically married to it and I have only had it 24h. GET USED TO IT!

Good luck, enjoy.

She is a lovly bike, i got one back in july last year and like you took a while to get used to her and not push it to much. i did my first track day this week and i was amazed at the bike can do, first session i was slow and had every man and his dog overtake me but by lunch time i had it completely over so my pegs were hitting the ground. Well enjoy it if if you can down south i will happy go for a ride with you

welcome to the jungle, we've got fun and games

thanks for your post as well bud, brought back some memories which I hadn't thought about for around 3 years. Turning up to Jordan's Bikes at leeds with my test pass certificate, collecting my CBF600's' and then heading off up to scammonden dam for a few hours. I was wobbly pulling out of the carpark, had a bash at filtering and was wobbly with that, nice and steady through the corners etc..

It all comes with practice, just remember to keep your head up and look where you're going, whether your in a long sweeping high speed corner or slowly manouvering out of your drive/street/ a carpark etc... When you're filtering, if a gap looks too tight then it probably is & no one is gonna think any less of you for stopping at the gap and re-joining traffic when it starts moving again.

As for rideouts, the pennine massive needs to get its finger out and organise some more! When I first joined we seemed to do loads but recently I've been the only one trying to organise anything and the carlsberg ride didn't exactly go to plan last week

Give leedsmatt (liversedge) a shout as he's sold his old bike to a new guy on here (roberrrt in batley iirc?) so there's a fair few around your end. I'm sure he'd be happy to show you guys around, or failing that we'll try and get a small group of us over to the peak district sometime soon

Nah fit some handguards... when you get that crunchy sound it means you misjudged it
