Ha, ha. The first of many me thinks

Glad your OK and your bikes not too bad, your BF can find and fit a new rev counter.

The title of your thread is bang on, you will have a few more in the next couple of years and IMO they are all part of the learning experience for any new rider.

Well done for getting back on! But then I didn't expect any different, you are not a quitter.

MARIA: "I fell off!"
MEL: "Pfffft, what no ravine? No helicopter?? Get back on the bike, we are going to Squires, I'm thirsty!"

One time in France I was on one of my sister in law's (ex, shame I liked her, the new one's a dirty b1tch) two mad stallions, whilst my stupid brother in law rode to the top of a gravel heap, reared up the horse and rode down the other side, the horse I was on started dancing around and rearing up in excitement, while my ex sister in law pulled it back down nose to nose with the reins and belted it across the nose for misbehaving. I turned to my wife "OK, get me off!". My wife then jumped on and went off with my brother in law, while I got a strong drink. They came back an hour later with the horses knackered and pouring with sweat and my wife's hands blistered to bits from the reins!

I used to be an OK rider when I was young, but that was on placid riding school horses that needed kicked like hell to get them to gallop. I haven't been on a horse since!

Well I'll soon be tryng out the one horsepower steeds, a friend is happy to give me riding lessons in exchange for me introducing her Arab to motorbikes - he freaks a bit when one comes near. Seems a good deal to me, as long as he doesn't kick me speedo off to match the rev counter

I bought a 22cc two stroke petrol hedge cutter yesterday, that's the closest I'm getting to one horsepower for a while

(unless one of our horse owners want to offer to put me back on one! If you want to see a 16 stone bloke shaking that's the way to do it!)

Took my four years before I fell off, and even then compared to Marias it was really lame!

May I add to your reply from Mel

'you call that gravel???? Meh, I ride roads that are only made of gravel'

Mel really is the best person IMO to have had around, being a bird and falling off in spectacular fashion, shes great to get you back in the swing. She was the first person I rode with after I fell off, funny though she accompanied me to Squires, to buy a new lid that I'd broke after my off!

Nope, kept my head up off the ground amazingly!

The remaining bit of the rev counter has now been tie-wrapped on

Glad your ok miss yc and your bikes not too beaten up. I had a fight with my friends pattern imprinted concrete drive on sunday as i pulled on to the bone dry but shiney sealed surface the bike slid out from under me and i ended up layed down on my left hand side bike on top of me fighting to keep bike from connecting with the ground, and just managed it phew bit of a sore knee but otherwise no damage apart from feeliing like a nugget infront of his neighbours.

But in the pic you are on your right side and I see what you mean....that bike must have felt like having a thousand elephants on top of you
