I've done both.
By bike orientated they mean just that. Side wind, chain adjustment, wheel alignment, tyre depth (1.6mm for car and 1mm for bike! I nearly got caught out on that lol), bike positioning on the road, etc. Otherwise, its general road sense. With the hazard perception the videos are practically the same, except the rider is on a bike instead of a car ![]() Good Luck! |

Did mine a few weeks ago, (doubt the question bank has changed much in the last few years) and probably 1/4 was bike stuff.
Luck of the draw I suspect. |

I think thats what it was for mine. The luck depends upon the centre also the bigger centres are more random as the bank is constantly being used

Then just look at the ones you got wrong the first time on some random other day and you'll be all sorted for sure cos you won't forget 'em. I passed my car theory first time and that did include hazard perception. I failed the hazard perception for bike theory once though and had to retake. It's a joke of a system with the most ridiculously obvious hazards on each clip, and half the time you end up clicking 'too early' so it doesn't register or you click too much to try and make sure you cover the part they mean and get 0 for clicking too much. It's a useless form of testing peoples hazard perception and resulted in pointless dosh wasteage on a retake for me. Gd luck. |

People failing their theory is something I never got my head round. Its pi$$ easy!
If you fail your hazard perception, it means you really aren't watching what you are doing. Its not a case of clicking too early, its a case of being trigger happy when you eventually notice what you are supposed to. Its not a useless form of testing, its perhaps you who aren't that aware enough. There was a poor lass that had failed her test, by one point, when I went to do the one for the car recently. TBH she'd had a bit of a bad time with her health, and the one she'd passed previously had lapsed.

it's only **** easy if you have no idea how to ride or drive, try doing it again after driving or riding for 15 years and then tell me the HP is easy.
I noticed the hazzard too early as will you. I hope. the deffinition of a hazzard is only when it becomes a hazzard and as a driver for 15 years that is difficult as your natural instict is to react before it becomes a hazzard. a kid playing with a ball, a person walking between a car three car lenghts away and a car pulling out of a side road(i don't know why but the way a car aproaches can tell you he/she's going to pull out, you just know). all these things caught me out. From what you are saying it seems like uni grad syndrome. |

I did them with a gap of six years. The six years between was as a rider only. Prior to the first one, I had only been riding a couple of months or three.
Perhaps my awareness is heightened as I have only ever been a motorcyclist.. I've only been driving a car six weeks. Many people I know who have driven for years, then ridden a bike, say they really didn't realise how unaware a car makes you until you get on a bike. I got 48/50 on the questions and 69/75 for the HP this time. BTW I've never been to uni. ![]()
