I hate sofa companies.
I found the sofas I always wanted, went to a national well known company. Paid deposit, and off I went hoping to have my new sofas within a few weeks.
Within those weeks I recieved a letter telling me they'd gone bust. I couldn't get my deposit back and I could have my sofas if I was patient.

6 months later I got those sofas. I was very disappointed, had to have someone out to look at the cushion inserts, had them replaced, and they still weren't right. I only had them two years when Peg moved in, and I couldn't wait to see the back of them when we were deciding what stuff of his was coming, and what of mine was going

Did I mention sofa companies are tw4ts!!!!

Shell, bought our previous sofa from dfs, well over priced for what it was, wasnt impressed with its longevity, £2.5k it cost, wouldnt go there again tbh.
Our present one is from scs and its the most comfortable leather sofa i have ever sat on, ask DMC he has slept on it with the fir burger (furry blanket lol), few people have commented on how comfy it is.

BTW, lose the cable

Thanks Dizzy and Specialone and yes yes the cable is going in the wall ..... when I can be arsed LOL. Means taking fire place off, TV off (samson is good but his paws wont reach) ............ if it annoys you guys that much you can come do for me if ya so wish.

Sounds like you had a bum deal Dizzy, that is what I dont want to happen with some local companies .... hence the John Lewis way of thinking. DFS is a no no for sure now

Got ours a few years ago from SCS and would never use them again Shell.

We saw the style and pattern we wanted and it was really comfy in the shop considering lots of folk would have sat on the shop one.

After a few months the cushions lost all their firmness so we contacted them and they dragged their heels for months. I had to get an independant company to come and have a look to give their opinion before SCS finally replaced the cushions and the ones in the arms as well. They didn't last very long either.

I was advised that the best foam is cold cured!! not sure about that though .

Just had a thought Shell.

My mother in law got a couple of sofas (not leather) from the Co-op in Stafford town centre and they are very very comfortable.

I would like to add, our sofa is almost 3 years old now and still looks as new, gets a leather feed every now and then.
