Has to be said, I do love mine. It's exactly the bike I need, and does everything I want as well. Has the same wheelbase, weight, rake and trail as a ZX10R so it handles brilliantly, but feels as comfy as a GTR with better economy than an ER6 - what's not to like?

I'm a habitual bike changer, I can't keep hold of a bike for more than a year before I'm bored with it and want a change. Well, I wouldn't say no to changing my Versys for something new, but if that happens it'll definitely be a new 2010 model Versys, and quite possibly a yellow one at that.

The new one is meant to be a lot better, still looks weird though, imo.

The new one is virtually identical except for the looks, so I can't see how anyone can say it's 'much' better. The most important new feature is rear engine mounts are rubber mounted and the pegs have softer rubbers to damp out the vibes I don't have on my '09 model, other than that it's the same chassis, same brakes, same frame, same engine etc etc, just different bodywork

the new versys does look odd, but would have one if a was doing the long runs as it would be cheaper than the sv on the distance.

Only gripe i have is the parallel twin, never been a fan but seem to be a lot more bomb proof than the old 500's

If we ever meet I'll give you my optician's card, either that or you have extremely bad taste in motorcycle design.

This is the 21st century, motorcycles have evolved beyond the upright naked look, in fact they'd evolved that far a few years before you were even born

Before me aswell, but about 1983 was when the sit up naked died off. The gpz900 started head behind the screen style

thats your opinion, i personally prefer the style and looks of a wide bared naked bike, and over that i prefer a super moto like a sxv 550
