The pics of planes in flight were taken with a Nikkor ED VR 70-300mm Lens. The static pics of the Vulcan were taken with a Nikor AF-S 50mm 1.4g Lens.

Yesterday wasnt to expensive IMHO. Tickets were £17 in advance or £21 on the day, flight displays started at 11am and didnt finish till 5:30pm and it was constant with no breaks in the schedule at all. One plane would land then the next one would take off again.

Then there were static displays and trade stands etc.

I'd say it was pretty good value for money. I have put all my pics up as I took over 500 yesterday...

The rest are on facebook, I've set the album so you dont need to be friends with me to view them.

Cheers for those pics Fizz, especially the Vulcan, one of my favourite planes of all time, up there with the BAE Lightning and Starfighter.

You've made me feel all young again! We used to go to RAF St Mawgan every summer holiday and the Vulcan would always be the show stopper. I remember it doing the slow fly-past, bomb bay doors open exactly like your pics, then it would power up and disapear.

The commentator would waffle on, then a spec appeared directly in front of the flight line, very high up. It got gradually bigger and bigger, then you realised it was the Vulcan, diving straight at you as steeply as it could. Just when I thought it would crash, the pilot would pull up and go to 100% power, RIGHT OVER OUR HEADS and climb away again, the engines pummling the crowd! You don't get that these days, planes directly over the crowd!

Awesome!

Pete

Ooooh, Dave, you just wait 'till I see Mandy again! I'll make her wish you'd never typed that!
